However, I have found that most of the lazyness I have seen with community theater productions comes from the diretors / producers or technical stff of productions. I have been in several productions where the entire cast has given it’s all but the show has lacked because of sloppy, poor or lazy direction. Afterall, any actor or cast can be 110% but if the director doesn’t do the same the production will suffer. All to many times I have heard the phrase “It’s not Broadway” spoken by the director. A paying audience, Broadway or not, is a paying audience and they deserve the highest quality production no matter the level of theater, amature or professional.

We must do what we can to connect with them, stir their emotions, and earn their approval. Otherwise, as they say, we should keep our day jobs…;-)
