Less Than Two Weeks Until Opening Shakespeare (Abridged)

By • Jun 28th, 2008 • Category: ShowBizRadio

Listen to Mike and Laura give another update on their behind the scenes work of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [MP3 1:36 .8MB].

Laura: This is the ShowBizRadio podcast for Friday, June 27, 2008.

Mike: This is an update for the Nova Woodbridge’s Theatre Group’s Summer show, the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) and the one act opener, The Least Offensive Play in the Whole Darn World.

Laura: We are getting down to the wire. We are learning our lines quickly and gathering props. Both shows are fairly prop heavy and also have a lot of accessories.

Mike: I am stage managing both shows. I have done a cue sheet for the lights and the sound effects for Shakespeare. I will be attending the rehearsal next week for Least Offensive Play to see how all that works. I have also done the sound design for both shows; getting the right sound and audio effects together. I have found some good music to use and am pleased with how it has all turned out so far.

Laura: I am the Assistant Director for our opener one act. I am learning a lot about wrangling props and becoming the coordinator. It has been an enjoyable process.

Mike: We are going into our final two weeks. We’ve got one week of rehearsals and then tech week. We open with a preview performance on July 10 at 8 pm. The regular performances are Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th at 8, and then Sunday the 13th at 2. Then again Friday the 18th and closing night is Saturday the 19th at 8 pm.(View the complete performance schedule.) So if you are available in mid July, come on out and see the show and say hey to Mike and Laura.

Laura: And now, on with the show.
