Despite the dark and ironic subject matter, Centreville High School’s production of Cabaret was thoroughly insightful and invited all to “relax, be yourself, and take off your corset.”
With swapping affections, mistaken identities, and rousing refrains, Walt Whitman High School’s production of Anything Goes was nothing short of extraordinary.
Overall, the Prep Players performed very well in their production of The Outsiders, and adequately conveyed the themes of the original novel.
The Battle of the Palm Beach Royale Hotel is surely one for the history books, just like Oakton High School’s memorable performance of Suite Surrender.
Although there were a few makeup issues, some sound errors, and stage crew blips, Woodson put on a fun and entertaining production of Bye, Bye, Birdie, lighting up the faces of every person in the room with well-timed jokes and fainting fan girls galore.
Despite a few mic and enunciation problems, both the cast and crew put forth very good effort and carried on a thoroughly enjoyable production of Guys and Dolls.
Overall, Something’s Afoot was entertaining and pleasing to watch.
The performers and technicians at George Mason High School demonstrated not only their broad base of skill, but a willingness to adapt to a theatrical piece style, with a delightful production of Xanadu that did just what the story requires–not taking itself too seriously.
The cast and crew of Peter Pan and Wendy delivered an admirable production full of endearing moments and plenty of laughs, entertaining audiences of all ages with an iconic story that continues to stand the test of time.
