The 29th Helen Hayes Awards

Signature Theatre received the most awards, four, including Outstanding Resident Musical for Dreamgirls. Four companies received three awards, MetroStage, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Studio Theatre and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company. Three prodiuctions received three awards each. They were Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, MetroStage; Dreamgirls, Signature Theatre; and Invisible Man, The Studio Theatre. There were two ties, Outstanding Supporting Actress, Resident Musical and Outstanding Set Design, Resident Production.
